The Shiro Volunteer Fire Department (Shiro VFD) serves the communities of Shiro, Roans Prairie, and Singleton in Grimes County, Texas. Our emergency fire response district is approximately 61 square miles with an estimated population of 2,500 individuals.
The Objective of the Shiro Volunteer Fire Department shall be the saving of lives and the protection of property endangered by fires,accidents, and other disasters, to promote the teaching and practice of fire prevention and protection, along with safety.

Shiro VFD has approximately twenty-five volunteer firefighters and five emergency fire response vehicles. We operate from a four bay fire department building located in Shiro, Texas. Opportunities exist for volunteer firefighters and support personnel.
